METRO – From the Boznerplatz through Tyrol to Innsbruck

In 2017, a subway line was built throughout Tyrol, with the stations Fieberbrunn, Innsbruck / Boznerplatz and St. Christoph am Arlberg, stretching over the whole state. The artist duo joechlTRAGSEILER installed two Metro cubes and an audio installation.
The existence of an imaginary underground network signals metropolitan elements such as modernity, mobility, structural extension and network, anonymity as well as the detachment of space and time. The straight line at Boznerplatz, is not only represented visually, but can also be percieved aucustically. The sound for the audio installation was recorded at Innsbrucker Platz, Berlin. The installation thus points to numerous real existing locations outside Tyrol, which have name have strong nominal references.
Such as the Tiroler Platz in Munich or the Südtiroler Platz in Vienna. This intervention will raise questions about the global village, the relationship between urbanity and landscape idylics as well as traffic in the future.

In Tirol wurde eine U-Bahn mit den Stationen Fieberbrunn, Innsbruck und St. Christoph am Arlberg errichtet. Sie durchmisst das gesamte Bundesland in einer geraden Linie.
Das Vorhandensein eines imaginären Untergrundnetzwerkes thematisiert Großstadtelemente wie Modernität, Mobilität, Anonymität sowie die Loslösung von Raum und Zeit. Zwei original U-Bahnwürfel von den Wiener Linien und eine Audioinstallation bilden die temporäre Intervention. Auf einer Höhe von 4 Metern sind die vertrauten Symbole der Urbanität weithin sichtbar. Die Betriebsgeräusche der U-Bahn können am Boznerplatz gehört werden, sie stammen vom Innsbrucker Platz in Berlin. Damit wird auch auf die zahlreichen tirolbezogenen Orte hingewiesen und am Netz von Martin Kippenberger weitergebaut.
Mit dem Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Projekt „METRO“ werden Fragen zum globalen Dorf, landschaftlicher Idylle und dem Verkehr gestellt.
